The Center or Information and Industry Development (CCID) released a full list of 35 assets on December 6th. In a recent placement, Ethereum remained within the top 3, moving one place higher from third to second, followed by Tron (TRX). Bitcoin’s network (BTC) was left behind on ninth place. Ripple remained out of the top 10, falling back on the 18th place.

Whilst experts believe that Ethereum’s recent boost is attributed to the recent hard fork, Ethereum’s co-founder keeps claiming the network is soon to reach over 3,000 transactions per second once the upgrade is over.

Whilst first banned everything crypto, China now plans to pilot digital Yuan project with the Central Bank of China. An information source mentioned the first stages of testing will launch before the end of 2019 in Shenzhen and might include the city of Suzhou. Alongside the Central Bank of China, the People’s Bank of China and the China Telecom will become testing digital currency payments.

“Compared with the previous pilot, this time the central bank’s legal digital currency pilot will go out of the central bank system and enter real service scenarios such as transportation, education, and medical treatment, reaching C-end users and generating frequent applications.”

With its digital payments debut, the People’s Bank of China will become the world’s first central bank to issue non-fiat currency. The bank’s digital currency has been under development for a few years and is now in its advanced stages.

Back in October 2019, China’s president Xi Jinping endorsed the use of the blockchain technology, pulling the curtains to its endless possibilities. The Asian force is on the road to outrank the United States with its blockchain initiatives. China created a crypto regulatory body to monitors its growing number of decentralized projects.

Argentina’s financial market is in trouble. After facing a significant bank closures, cash shortages and ATMs running out of funds, the increasing capital control in Argentina now hit the cryptocurrency real. The Central Bank of Argentina (CBA) debarred its citizens from purchasing Bitcoin (BTC) or other cryptocurrencies with credit cards.

The Bank’s statement covered multiple industries, limiting or prohibiting the usage of credit cards. The cryptocurrency-related section reads:

“Acquisition of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies: It is prohibited to purchase BTC with this payment method. The only remaining alternative for this investment is to do so with funds transferred from a bank account.”

As of now, it is uncertain whether the new rules apply for credit cards only, or the limitations and prohibition includes prepaid and debit cards. Such measures were taken in the name of preserving Argentina’s foreign exchange reserves.

Industry experts believe the recent moves were made towards increasing the exchange control. Limitations or blockage of US Dollar entries are expected to follow. Earlier this week, the Bank placed limitations on the amounts Argentinians are allowed to buy each month, reducing the total amount from $10,000 to only $200.

Companies pull out of Facebook’s Libra? Fri, 18 Oct 2019 15:16:43 +0000 Libra is on the verge of launching. Although high-profile partners have abandoned the project, executive David Marcus believes Facebook’s venture expects over hundreds of financial firms and banks on board.

“It will take time for us to address all the regulatory concerns that were raised, and it’s our duty and our responsibility to come with answers to these questions. I think once we’ve done this then I think we’ll see more banks and traditional financial services firms join the effort,”  commented David Marcus – head of Libra during International Monetary Fund (IMF) panel he had.

During his panel, Marcus shared about 1,600 potential partners have expressed their interest in backing up or joining the project, leaving “no problem” for Libra to reach its goal of launching with 100 members.

Opinions have been polar these past few days. Facebook’s ambitions to establish a digital currency have faced flashback by key members, pulling out – eBay Inc., PayPal Holdings Inc. and Stripe to name a few.

Regulators and policy makers expressed concerns Libra could turn over financial systems, threatening privacy data and encouraging money laundering activities.

As of now, Facebook has no major payment firm as a backup plan due to its launch in June 2020.

BETCOINPOKER.AG SWITCHES FROM mBTC TO μBTC Fri, 27 Sep 2019 15:20:39 +0000

We are excited to announce our poker room will undergo a general currency switch. Players will now be able to play in μBTC. This major change came after months of discussions whilst looking for ways to make crypto poker more available to more recreational players without losing the thrill of the game.

What is μBTC?

The original Bitcoin concept was for the crypto coin to increase in value overtime. This is the main reason there will never be over 21 million bitcoins, therefore there appeared the sudden need to break down each unit into smaller pieces – mBTC and μBTC.

How do BetcoinPoker.AG players benefit from the switch?

When switching the currency to one-millionth of the Bitcoin, we reduce the risk of losing big time by 1,000,000. Now you can bet more, win more, and ultimately risk less.

  • BTC = 1 Bitcoin
  • mBTC = 0.001 BTC
  • μBTC = 0.000001 BTC

BetcoinPoker.AG’s technical team will start the currency switch procedure on Tuesday, October 1st, at 00:00 am EDT. The expected downtime is between 2 and 4 hours.

There will be no changes in current tournaments’s guaranteed rewards.
